The Kjellberg Finsterwalde Plasma und Maschinen GmbH is the oldest manufacturer of plasma cutting machines in the market.

The company with a long tradition was founded in 1922 as Kjellberg Elektro-Maschinen GmbH by Oscar Kjellberg, the inventor of the coated rod electrode after whom the company was named. In 1959, Kjellberg Finsterwalde started the development of plasma cutting technology. In 1962, a patent application for FineFocus plasma cutting was filed in cooperation with the scientist Manfred von Ardenne.

In 2008, the former Kjellberg Finsterwalde Elektroden und Maschinen GmbH was restructured. Four independent companies emerged which from that time on have focused on their respective specialisations. You are invited to visit the premises in Finsterwalde in the East German state of Brandenburg and experience first-hand the world of plasma cutting in the new customer and application centre. You will be able to see diverse demonstrations and training courses with a large number of different 2D and 3D guiding systems.
