Who we are

Westermans have been trading since 1967, a family owned and run company based in Leicestershire, UK. Peter Westerman, Founder and Managing Director is pictured here with Craig Westerman, Sales and Operations Director

Our Prices

We do not state prices on our website on the majority of our products, as each machine is refurbished to individual orders and often bespoke. The machine you buy is sold to match your requirements.    

What you get

Unless otherwise stated, all our machines are serviced to order. Machines are often supplied bespoke and altered to suit. If required, any machine can be refurbished which includes re-spraying and replacing any necessary parts. Our machines are only made by the leading manufacturers, so you will receive a quality working machine ready to weld. Inclusive Warranty

All our machines are serviced before despatch, unless otherwise stated. If necessary, machines can also be refurbished and colour coded to suit existing workshops. Unless otherwise stated, there is a minimum of 4 months Parts and Labour warranty. Warranty is void if any product has been altered or modified in any way (including but not limited to attempted warranty repair without authorisation from us).

Warranty is based on Return to Site basis.

Please note: All NEW torches and accessories only carry the standard 3 month manufacturers warranty as these are consumables. 

If you purchase a machine in "As Is" condition it means we have not ran it, serviced it or offer any warranty on it.  This is an option on some equipment we sell offering a low cost solution. It is the Buyer's responsibility to view the equipment before purchasing as our normal selling terms do not apply. 

Impartial Advice

We do not have an obligation or agency to a specific manufacturer. We stock most makes and models of welding equipment and would prefer to advise and quote a suitable machine that gives the welder satisfaction and reliability. In fact, it is best to ask the operator which make they prefer before making a decision. We are partners with a small number of global manufacturers and can supply new products and consumables. Please be aware that we trade B2B.

Tuition

Tuition or training is available on some machinery we supply. We do not charge to carry out in-house demonstrations to run you through the application. Our Engineers can travel to your nominated workshop, however there will be a charge. Normally provided on a daily basis, this can be tailored to suit the company or individual operator. We are not liable for any or any consequential losses or legal fees associated with incompetent operators nor are we responsible for any incorrrect use of equipment. We are a supplier of equipment B2B only.

UK Delivery

We will LOAD all our machines ourselves for onward transit. Most orders are shipped on a pallet using the UK pallet network on a 2-3 day delivery service and assume you have lifting facilites to offload.  If you require a tailored quotation for tail-lift, Saturday or Next Day services, please let us know. Parcels under 25kg are delivered on a next day service. Machines can also be collected from our works in Leicestershire, once payment has been received however charges may be applied. Machines are sold ex-wroks unless stated on your Invoice.

UK Installations

Westermans International have specialist Service Engineers who are able to provide full installation and after-care support on either New or Used welding and cutting machinery supplied. Charges apply, please ask for more details.

Payments

On receipt of a Purchase Order, we will issue a Proforma Invoice with Bank details. UK payments can be made by Cheque, Bank Transfer, Paypal, Cash, Company Credit or Debit Card (Paypal and company cards subject to a fee) We accept GB Sterling, Euro and USD but please pay in the currency given on the Proforma Invoice. Holding Deposit. If agreed, a non-refundable holding deposit can be taken to secure equipment. This is normally 10% of the full value. The balance or any interim payment request must be made within 7 days or storage fees may be applied or we have right to cancel the contract.

Documentation

All goods sold are issued with a Delivery/Packing Note and VAT Invoice. We are experienced Exporters, and can provide advice on all documentation, shipping quotes and special timber for any country around the world. Please see our International FAQs page for lots more information.

Returns

Please note that Returns for other reasons than under warranty are only possible if authorised prior to receiving. Due to machines being completed to order there will be a minimum of a 25% cancellation and re-stocking fee.  You are responsible for all return transport fees. 

Any machine purchased "As Is" is non returnable and before purchasing we strongly advise you view the equipment to ensure you know what you are buying. 

Delivery Terms and Conditions

It is your responsibility to examine your order upon delivery to ensure there are no visible signs of damage, of which this must be reported immediately (within 48 hours) in writing with photographic evidence. In the event that there are parts of your order missing or incorrect you must contact us within 7 days of receipt with full details in writing with photographic evidence. No claims can be made against Westermans International Ltd if not in writing or after this time. For any other problem with your order, please contact us immediately.
