The IET’s Young Woman Engineer of the Year Awards

This prestigious award honours the very best female engineers under the age of 30 working in the UK today

The Evening of 6 December 2012 | IET London: Savoy Place

Fancy a FREE evening out ladies. Then this will be a great place to network with inspiring young Engineers from the UK.

Gabby Logan will be presenting the awards. Sadly the competition for 2012 entries has now closed, however there is always 2013 if you know of a young female engineer you would like to nominate.

About the award

The YWE award recognises a young woman who has firmly established herself as an energetic and technically excellent professional.

Additional prizes announced at the ceremony include the Mary George Memorial Prize for Apprentices and the Women’s Engineering Society Prize.

How will the winners benefit?

 

  • All award winners will have the chance to claim her award at a prestigious national ceremony in London on 6 December 2012, which will be covered by both print and broadcast media
  • All award winners will have the opportunity to attend high profile events and meet the most influential people in our industry
  • All awards will highlight the winner’s achievements to future employers
  • The YWE winner will receive a trophy and a cheque for £2,500
  • The Mary George Prize for Apprentices Winner will receive a trophy and a cheque for £750
  • The Women’s Engineering Society Prize winner will receive a trophy and a cheque for £750

The entry deadline has now closed for 2012. We will be open for 2013 applications via this website from 7 December 2012.

 

Ceremony

The ceremony itself is free to attend, and will be followed by a free drinks reception and buffet, with networking and career opportunities, plus a chance to meet the 2012 celebrity awards host, Gabby Logan! The ceremony will take place in the evening of 6 December at IET London: Savoy Place.

    2013 sees this event held on the 5th December 2013 at the Pullman St Pancras. Another free night out to celebrate Engineering in the UK.
