Welding Equipment suppliers...who we are
Peter Westerman, Purchasing Director
Peter, the founder of Westermans International Ltd initially started as a Salesman
for Petbow, a UK manufacturer of Welding Plant. Over the years, Peter has had many ventures and not all in the machinery field! In the 1960’s he started his own company which developed into Leicester Welding Supplies, an East Midlands based company supplying new equipment and consumables. Later in the 80’s Peter formed today’s company to supply used and refurbished welding machinery. He is a well known character around the welding supply and heavy engineering firms in the UK and is often described as “that old man on the BMW bike!” After 50 or so years in the industry a past and present member of many associations such as the AWD and EAMTM he is a mind of information. Peter’s passion firstly is his motorbike (much to the disappointment of his wife), then his family and 5 Grandchildren.

Craig Westerman, Sales Director
After starting an Apprenticeship in Cabinet making, Craig worked for a number of
years in the building trade before joining his father at Westermans Welding Supplies in the late 1980’s. He fondly remembers starting from scratch in the workshop learning all he could about the machinery and refurbishing process.
Now 20 years later you still find him happiest working in the workshops, however, his knowledge has grown somewhat since then! With his two sons, one a bike mechanic for Redline KTM in Loughborough, he is now a committed motocross supporter and travels the length and breadth of England driving the boys to different tracks as members of the Banbury motox club every weekend.
Claire Spillane, Company Secretary
Daughter of Peter, Claire joined the company in 1994 after working as a Physiotherapy Assistant at the Leicester Royal Infirmary for 10 years. Initially shocked to be sat behind a desk, but now she has loyal and capable staff to allow her some time away to enjoy her hobby of Western Riding at stables in Cranoe, Leicestershire. If she is not at work you will normally find her at the Syston Rugby Club or in the Rood Health gym in Queniborough, Leicestershire.
In July 2009 she completed the "3 Peak Challenge" in 24 hours for charity. Click here to read more about it.
Her Beagle “Florie” is a full time office dog who spends her 9-5 under the desk!!!
Mark Reaney, Technical Manager.JPG)
Mark was a very lucky find for Westerman’s when he joined in 2003. Being a Miller and ESAB engineer trained to level 3, he can turn his hand to any machine (in fact any thing put in front of him).He is in charge of the team refurbishing and repairing welding machinery.
Mark has many hobbies but his passion is pyrotechnics. His own November firework display can be seen some 50 miles away, much to the annoyance of his neighbours.
Chris Whitaker, Senior Administrator

Living locally in Syston, Chris has become an invaluable member of the team at Westerman’s for the last 12 years.
She initially started a couple of days a week whilst her two sons were young but quickly increased her hours to full time to meet the demands.
Chris has yet again taken part in the Race for Life in Leicester raising funds for Cancer Research.
Jess Waterfield, Administrator

A new addition to our company is Jess Waterfield. Younger by far than the rest of the team, she has brought a fresh approach to the office!
Like Claire, she enjoys riding and is lucky enough to own her own horse called Bea. Both her and Bea enjoy going for beach rides and jumping. Jess loves going to gigs and festivals but believes she was born in the wrong era as she loves The Jam, Kinks and The Cribs etc.
We are building a superb company that is able to attract, develop and retain top quality committed people. The working environment we have created values their contribution and encourages a desire to be part of the company's on-going growth to success...
