Peter Westerman

Peter, the founder of Westermans International Ltd initially started with a UK manufacturer of welding plant in the 1960's. He started his own welding equipment supply company which  by the 80’s had formed in to today’s company buying and selling used and refurbished machinery to the metalworking industry. Often described as “that old man on the BMW bike" with an unforgettable character, his long-standing passion of the welding industry led to being awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Welding-World and has been the President of the Association of Welding Distributors.

Sales Director

Craig Westerman

Craig worked for a number of years in the building trade before joining his father at Westermans Welding Supplies in the late 1980’s. He fondly remembers starting from scratch in the workshop learning all he could about the machinery and refurbishing process. Now 35 years later you still find him happiest working in the workshops, however, his knowledge has grown somewhat since then and his role primarily is Technical Sales and Operations. Trying to get him to take time off is a nightmare as he is happiest working either here or in his garden on his ride on mower!

Financial Director

Claire Spillane

Claire joined the company in 1994 after working as a Physiotherapy Assistant for many years. Claire looks after the financial and commercial side of Westerman's but enjoys the digital marketing element of her job best. She loves to be out walking and has conquered all of the highest peaks in the United Kingdom and climbed the Atlas Mountains, the highest in North Africa! These days finding time is her biggest challenge especially since becoming a doting Grandma of two and discovering Paddle Boarding.

Technical Director

Mark Reaney

A very lucky find for Westerman’s when Mark joined in 2003. Being a Miller and ESAB engineer trained to level 3, he can turn his hand to any machine (in fact anything put in front of him). He is in charge of the team refurbishing and repairing welding machinery. A demanding challenge! In January 2012 Mark was appointed Technical Director.
A real "techy" he is extremely knowledgeable on everything to Tesla cars to solar panels and we are grateful for the bespoke software he has created to run our business efficiently.

Senior Buyer

Bev Kerr

We were lucky to find Bev! She worked at Next for 17 years as a Credit Adviser but was ready for a change and wanted to work for a smaller, family run business.
She loves being outdoors and walking Miko, her Malamute is part of her daily routine. She even brings the big, hairy dog to work every day.
Bev with her skill set was quickly promoted to the role of Buyer and is very successful at sourcing some amazing fabrication equipment alongside Peter.

Sales Specialist

Jo Lawless

Coming from a equipment hire company, Jo quickly picked up our extensive product range and provides customers first class service and information. If you place an order then it's Jo who will handle it and keep you up to date with the whole process. She has to work closely alongside Craig and decipher his instructions which is her biggest challenge! Jo has this amazing calm personality, you would never know she is constantly organising her hectic life with work, a daughter and 2 pesky dogs.

Logistics Coordinator

Haidee Westerman

Joining us from a career of caring, Haidee has found her feet in the role of Logistic Coordinator. She is also our Social Media wizard and enjoys interacting with old and new customers by sharing pictures of what goes on behind the scenes at their work places. If you get asked to leave a Review, that will be from Haidee. Juggling her life as a new Mum, Haidee is the 3rd generation to join the family business and maybe one day her little boy Louie will also become part of the team.

Accounts Administrator

Judy Watkinson

Judy unbelievably has been with the Team for over 8 years. She is the one to contact if you want paying! She puts us all to shame by walking every lunchtime to keep fit. She loves to Salsa dance. Judy worked for 20 years in Admin for a major international business, but loves working for a family business. If not at work keeping the Accounts department in good order, Judy will probably be on an exotic cruise!

Marketing Specialist

Jess Partner

Times have changed somewhat for Jess, starting as a Junior Administrator she now is the Marketing Consultant. She runs her own artisan business too, Ivy Nook and has re-discovered her creativity. She loves nothing more than a walking her Bracco Italiano dog Ada at our local country park on a summer's evening even though she is thoroughly spoilt and gets Jess up at the crack of dawn. Jess is gradually exploring the world, one road trip at a time!

Trainee Service Engineer

Luke Westerman

Another 3rd generation family member, Luke joined us under Mark's watchful eye to train as a service engineer. He is learning the ropes and when he is not doing that he is running after his little lad or riding a motorbike of any size from minmoto, MX to a road bike. He loves being on a race track eating sweet chill chicken and Mexican rice. He has already got his son Riley, several bikes so you can see where that will be going!

Refurbishment Technician

Henry Little

He has been with us forever. Henry who arrives every day on his orange Lamberetta no matter what the weather is happiest when he has a spray gun in his hand. He ensures any refurbished equipment is top notch for our customers. He's a bit of a joker and you can't always get a straight answer but he is extremely reliable even though he reckons his favourite food is cat food and he loves knitting and cross stitch.

Goods In/Out Co-ordinator

Tony Cox

Packing and loading is where you will find Tony. As our number 1 Goods in/out team member he is the one who makes sure you get your machine in one piece and undamaged. Another one to spend time with his son, he spends his weekends entertaining him either on the X-box or outside activities. When free, Tony loves to walk, climb and cycle preferably by the sea or in the Peak District.

Technician

Blair Crook

Blair is a very recent addition to our team. After working elsewhere for nearly 20 years, he found himself redundant during 2020. He has 3 sons so life is pretty hectic for him out of work but in work you will find him at his bench, taking pride in cleaning and assembling the machines we have sold. He likes most sports to watch and his kids think of him as superhero Batman.

Paul Morris

Our most recent addition to the team is Paul who was looking for some part-time work that would fit around his passion for motorbikes. A Suzuki enthusiast he belongs to a number of clubs and has been chosen on more than one occasion for his bike to be featured in Bike magazines when spotted at shows. His favourite place to be is on his bike and if possible, whilst enjoying a Sunday roast dinner!
