Westermans are involved with local people and groups
…It takes a little of our time to give a huge amount to others.
As a local business Westermans International believe that supporting the community is vital and rewarding for their staff. As a family run company supplying welding equipment, we are lucky to be able to help and support those who we admire.

Scott in their passion for a fast and dirty sport! MotoX has become a way of life and we are proud to be able to help them achieve their goals.
The riders enjoy travelling either to their home track in Banbury or to other race tracks in the UK by means of a purpose built motorhome complete with garage to store their KTM and Honda motorbikes. They have met many like minded children and adults along the way and kindly advertise Westermans Welding by displaying new customised plastics and some very impressive westermans.com graphics on their bikes display.
Their success is due to the commitment and discipline they put into the sport, they seek advice from those who are at the top and enjoy regular training sessions. MotoX has given them confidence to meet and speak with others, stamina and fitness and more importantly pure enjoyment and thrills each and EVERY weekend!
Congratulations to Adam Westerman and Luke Westerman. They were presented with trophies from their own club,
Banbury Motox Club, Adam took 3rd place for Adult 250/450 class and Luke took both 2nd place for Adult 85 big wheel class and 11th Schoolboy 85 big wheel class.
Well done. Keep up the competition boys! The
T+MX News has the latest results from April 2010.
Harry Machin
Living in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire, Harry who is 4 has cerebral palsy. During 2009 his Parents and Grandmother devoted even more time to raising funds for much needed specialised equipment to help him sit up un-aided. We were so impressed by Harry and his family that we decided to give something to help. Along with Birstall Rugby Club and NatWest bank of Syston and many other generous people, they have been able to buy some of this equipment. We have displayed in our office, a gorgeous purple handprint of Harrys’ to say Thank you.
If you want to know more about Harry and how you can help a lovely little boy please email us.
Syston Rugby Club
WELL DONE SYSTON UNDER 17's
On the 28th March 2010, the under 17's team at Syston Rugby club were defeated by Bedford in the Midlands Cup Final. Lee Richardson, head coach said "we have had a fantastic season, becoming the Leicestershire League champions, County Cup champions and runner's up in the Midlands cup final. Truly an amazing period, I cannot praise the boys enough"
Being only 5 minutes away from our office
, Syston RFC is well known and very well supported by boys and men of all ages! But their success on the playing field is due to a large number of committed coaches and volunteers.
Claire Spillane became involved with her sons team and was quickly roped in to help with fund raising each year for Tour. Her biggest personal achievement to date is her
3 Peak Challenge which took place on 3rd/4
th July 2009, where she and 9 other parents climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon over a 24 hour period, raising funds for the next 2010 tour to Ireland. Follow this link to read more about
the team and her Challenge.
April 7th the squad will fly over to Dublin to play 2 matches at Ashbourne Rugby Club, Ireland.
Claire has just attemped the most unachievable challenge yet! Lakeland 3000, which was 4 mountains, walk 45 miles and all within 24 hours. Yes tough and no she didn't finish it - neither though did anyone else!! In the Lake District, England during the weekend of 18th-20th june 2010 these are her memories - Fantastic scenery, thousands of sheep and permanent laughter from the Syston rugby team. Well done all. Photos are available on Facebook.
House of Hope, Constanta, Romania
After meeting with a Romanian friend, Claire Spillane was told about an orphanage in
Romania which was struggling for support from the Government to remain open as a home to some 15-20 young children who were all infected with HIV. This home only needs 140,000 euros to provide a safe and loving environment for all these children, staff wages and medicine. So as she had already committed herself to raise money on the 3 Peak Challenge, it was decided that this much needed Charity would benefit greatly. In October 2009, Claire was pleased to be able to send over £1250 as a gift and hopes to continue to raise awareness and funds over the coming years.
You can read more on the Challenge and the Orphanage here.
If you are a local group or charity arranging a fund raising event, please email the full details to us. We will support you if we can.
