How diesel welder generators and standalone generators work, and how to choose between them for site power.
A diesel welder-generator combines a welding machine and an auxiliary power generator in one unit; the standard choice for sites where you need to weld and run tools, lighting or other equipment from the same machine. If welding isn’t part of the job, a standalone diesel generator covers the power side on its own, without paying for welding capability you won’t use.

Which Welding Processes Do They Support?
Diesel welder-generators aren’t limited to one welding process. Depending on the model, they typically support:
- Stick/MMA: the standard for site and maintenance welding, tolerant of wind, rust and less-than-ideal conditions
