The customer
Total Air Limited is the manufacturing arm of Air System International Ltd (ASIL), specialising in sheet metal work for industrial-grade HVAC systems. Manufacturing their own sheet metal gives the company full control over product quality and lets them tailor ducting to each client's needs.
Leading Maltese businesses use ASIL's HVAC systems across shopping centres, residential developments, hospitality and leisure complexes, and large-scale car parks; sectors where corrosion resistance and long-term reliability in ducting are essential.
The challenge
- Fast sourcing: Total Air needed a resistance spot welder quickly for flange-to-sheet-metal welding in duct manufacturing
- Import to Malta: the machine had to be sourced from the UK and shipped internationally with minimal delay
- Refurbished, not new: price and service mattered more than buying new; a well-refurbished machine was the priority
- Right specification: the target machine was a Model PBP126 – 25KVA Air Operated Resistance Spot Welding Machine, suited to duct flange welding
Westermans recommendation
The PBP126 25KVA was the right match for what Total Air needed: enough power to handle flange welding on ducting-grade sheet metal reliably, without the cost or lead time of buying new. Refurbished to a high standard, it gave them a production-ready machine from day one.
The outcome
Importing the machinery was very simple and straightforward. After selecting the machinery required, we effected payment and subsequently made the required arrangements for the collection of the machinery from Westermans. Their staff was very helpful, and the importation arrived in a very short period of time. We were very happy with the service.
Why this setup worked
The refurbished PBP126 gave Total Air a cost-effective way to keep flange welding in-house, without compromising on the quality control that underpins ASIL's HVAC products. A straightforward import process meant no disruption to their production timeline.
